Grilled Brats w/Brie and Spiral Apple Slaw

Ingredients

  • 4 Bratwurst

  • 4 Brat Buns

  • Thinly sliced Brie

  • Butter for toasting buns

Apple Slaw Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Cider Vinegar

  • 1 Tbsp Honey

  • 2 tsp Grainy Mustard

  • 3 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 2 Crisp Apples (Like Fuji or Honey Crisp)

  • 1 Large Carrot, peeled

  • 3 Scallions, thinly sliced

Instructions

Grill brats until internal temp is 160ºF

Slaw Directions

  1. In a large bowl, which together the Vinegar, Honey, Mustard, Salt, Generous grinding of black pepper

  2. Whisk in 3 Tbsp olive oil to make the dressing

  3. Use a spiral slicer to cut apples and carrot.  Add apples, carrot, and scallions to the dressing and toss well.

  4. When the brats are almost done, butter the buns and place buttered side down to toast on grill/griddle.  Turn buns cut side up and add slice of Brie and grill until it starts to melt.

  5. Pull buns from grill, top with a brat and apple slaw and a little drizzle of Honey Dijon BBQ Brat Sauce from Destination Bar-B-Q.
